B Corporations

This is a bit of an overlap with People & Places, but I think it is such a great tool to use when choosing where you are going to buy your things.
Best described in their own words:

“The B Corp movement is one of the most important of our lifetime, built on the simple fact that business impacts and serves more than just shareholders—it has an equal responsibility to the community and to the planet.” Rose Marcario, CEO of Patagonia
Certified B CorporationsTM redefine success in business.

Individually, B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, and aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems.
Collectively, B Corps lead a growing global movement of people using business as a force for goodTM. Through the power of their collective voice, one day all companies will compete to be best for the worldTM, and society will enjoy a more shared and durable prosperity for all.

Bees Wax Wrap

Ditch the plastic wrap baby!
Following the recent change in Victorian Supermarkets to ditch the single use plastic bag, this idea can be stretched out so much further to reduce and eliminate the use of unnecessary single use plastic. These are easy to use, available now at a lot of health food shops and of course online.
I use them at home and can vouch for their efficacy as a replacement for plastic wrap, the food stays so fresh!

ETHIQUE - Beauty Bars

Shampoo, Conditioner (that doubles as an in shower body moisturiser *drool) and body products.
Cruelty Free, Plastic Free, Natural Ingredients, B Corp Approved, Fair Trade AND Sustainable.
Products I have tried:
‘Volume Please - Sweet and Spicy & Wonderbar’ Shampoo and Conditioner bundle.
So great, long lasting, my hair feels shiny, volumunous, healthy and most importnatly - CLEAN. A lot of natural hair products I have tried don't lather up enough... well not this stuff. Keep the bars dry on a high shelf or in a jar to ensure they last as long as possible in your humid bathroom.

'KIND MILK FROM A BETTER PLACE'
For those who can tolerate dairy in their diets, this is an excellent choice. They pride themselves on rearing calves with their mums so the cows live together in a stress free environment and you can taste it in the milk. So great!
